April12, Memphis TN

Yesterday, we left Nashville, TN for the start of our westward journey.  If you had asked me a while ago, would we drive in the 8 o'clock Nashville traffic, I would have said NO WAYS.  Well as you can see from the first 3 pictures, we were into it, thick and fast. Changing freeways as the GPS gave us directions, left, right and center, but the traffic moves and one has to keep up with it or you get lost in the rush.

So, we mozied on down the freeway, towards Memphis West, Arkansas, on the way having to stop for supplies and gas.  We programmed the GPS for directions to a Walmart, a Home Depot and were sure to find a gas station on the way.  How many times would you think someone could go round a clover leaf, in a 32 foot motor home, before realizing that the GPS is trying to get you to go past one of the off ramps and take the next turn.  We counted 4 times, as you can see from the last picture.  We could see Walmart, we could see Home Depot but for the life of us we could not figure out how to get there.  It might be called 'old age' or just disorientation.  By the time we stopped we were having a good laugh at ourselves, I'm sure we will relive that moment many times in the future, and have a good laugh every time.

Today we are settled into a little park, out in the farmlands, and still waiting for summer to arrive. Brrr.
